Choose The Right Lense For You / General Tips

When it comes to selecting lenses for your glasses Loganville Vision Center  has a wide choice available. There have been many advances in technology over the last few years and it's no longer a case of just deciding between plastic and glass lenses. Now you can choose from a wide range of lens types and treatments relevant for your lifestyle and needs to provide you with optimum comfort and clarity.

Thin and Light
Improves appearance by reducing the profile of glasses. Lighter lenses reduces pressure points on your ears and nose.

Anti-reflection
Reduces glare from light and computer screens. Allows your eyes to be seen more clearly.
Scratch resistant
Prevents unsightly scratches from normal wear and tear.

Varifocal lenses
Provides clear vision at near, intermediate and far distances. No unsightly lines in front of the eye unlike bifocal lenses. Can be fitted into almost all of the frames we stock.
Light sensitive lenses
Reacts to changes in light conditions automatically. Indoors they are almost clear, outside they darken to protect your eyes from bright sunlight so your vision is more comfortable.

General Tips

Our staff are trained to help you choose a frame to suit you, that will feel as good as it looks.

  • Your pupil should be near the centre of the lens space to avoid looking cross eyed

  • The top of the frame should be no higher than the line of your eyebrows

  • The bottom of the frame should not touch your cheek so they don’t rub

  • Frames should not be wider than the overall width of your face at the temples

  • The design and position of the bridge is key to a comfortable fit – if it leaves pinch marks then your frame is too tight. Pop in and get it adjusted

  • Think about what jewellery you commonly wear close to your face and match your frame to it

  • If only buying one pair of spectacles, think about matching them with the majority of your wardrobe
